BASIC BREWS:
Water

• +Netherwart = Awkward Potion (No Effect) Grows in Nether Fortresses
• +Redstone Dust = Mundane Potion (No Effect)
• +Glowstone Dust = Thick Potion (No Effect) Found in Nether 
• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (1:30) Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

Awkward Potion

• +Ghast Tear = Potion of Healing (Instant Health) Found by killing a ghast.
• +Blaze Powder = Potion of Strength (3:00) Found by killing Blaze in Nether Fortresses
• +Magma Cream = Potion of Fire Resistance (3:00) Found by killing Magma Cubes in the Nether.
• +Spider Eye = Potion of Poison (0:45)
• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (1:30)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.
• +Sugar = Potion of Swiftness (3:00)

Mundane Potion

• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (4:00)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

Thick Potion

• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (1:30)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

Potion of Fire Resistance

• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Slowness (1:30)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.
• +Redstone Dust = Potion of Fire Resistance (8:00)

Potion of Slowness

• +Redstone Dust = Potion of Slowness (4:00)

Potion of Helaing

• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (1:30)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.
• +Glowstone Dust = Potion of Healing (Instant Health II)

Potion of Strength

• +Redstone Dust = Potion of Strength (8:00)
• +Glowstone Dust = Potion of Strength (Strength II 1:30)  Found in Nether 
• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Weakness (1:30)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

• Strength (8:00) + Glowstone Dust = Strength II (1:30)  Found in Nether 

Potion of Poison

• +Glowstone Dust = Potion of Poison II (0:22)  Found in Nether 
• +Redstone Dust = Potion of Poison (2:00)
• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Harming (Instant Damage)  Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

Potion of Harming

• +Glowstone Dust = Potion of Harming II (Instant Damage)  Found in Nether 

Potion of Swiftness 

• +Glowstone Dust = Potion of Swiftness (Speed II 1:30)  Found in Nether 
• +Redstone Dust = Potion of Swiftness (8:00)
• +Fermented Spider Eye = Potion of Slowness (1:30) (8:00 -> 4:00) *Does not create a Potion of Slowness II. Made using a brown mushroom, sugar, and a spider eye.

Weapon Recipes

 Flint + a stick + a feather makes 4 arrows.

String + sticks make a bow.

Material + stick make a sword.

Transportation Recipes

Planks make a boat. 

Iron Bars + a stick makes a railroad.

Iron bars make a minecart.

Chest + a minecart make a storage minecart. Useful for filling with items while in the mines, then sending back up. Also transporting materials long distances.

Iron bars + pressure plate + redstone makes pressure rail. Make a pressure plate with two cobblestones right next to each other. Useful for activating powered rails.

Furnace + minecart makes a powered minecart. Powered via coal

Gold bars + a stick + redstone makes powered rail. Useful for moving up hills.

Tool Recipe

When discussing tools, the word "material" is used to replace the items used to make tools, which includes wood, stone, iron, gold, and diamond.

Material + sticks makes an ax.

Iron bars make a bucket.

Iron bars + redstone make a compass which points to your spawn area.

Sticks + spider string make a fishing rod.

Flint + Steel make Flint & Steel.

Material + sticks make a hoe.

Paper + compass makes a map.

Material + sticks make a pickax. 

Material + sticks make a shovel.

Gold bars + redstone make a watch.

Misc Recipes

Wool + planks makes a bed.

3 paper(from sugar cane) make a book.

Sticks make a fence.

Sticks make a ladder.

Material block makes 9 material.

Sticks + wool makes a painting.

Sugar cane makes paper.

Planks + a stick makes a sign.

Mechanism Recipes

Cobblestone + bow + redstone makes a dispenser. Useful for shooting items out, from eggs to arrows to meat.

Iron bars or wooden planks make a door. Wooden doors can be broken by zombies on hard, steel doors require a lever.

Wooden planks + diamond make a jukebox. Use discs found in dungeons or dropped by mobs to play certain songs in-game. 

Sticks + cobblestone makes a lever.

Wooden planks + redstone makes a note box. Note boxes make different noises depending on what surface they are placed.

Smooth stone(furnaced cobblestone) or wood makes a pressure plate. 

Redstone + stick makes a redstone torch.

Smooth stone makes a button. 

Wooden planks make a trapdoor(hatch).

Redstone + redstone torches + smooth stone makes a redstone repeater.

Food Recipes

Planks make a bowl 

3 pieces of wheat make bread. Make wheat plants with seeds, attainable by breaking tall grass, and surrounding with light and water.

Buckets of milk + sugar + eggs + wheat makes cake. Sugar is made from sugar cane

Wheat + cocoa beans makes cookies. Cocoa is attainable from dungeons.

8 golden blocks + an apple makes a golden apple. Apples fall from trees in certain biomes, and use 9 gold bars to make a gold block.

Red/brown mushroom + bowl makes mushroom soup. 

Sugar cane makes sugar. 

Watermelon makes watermelon seeds.
